The City of Carlisle
is known as the Great Border City and lies
within the Cumbrian vale between the mountains of the
Lake District and the Scottish Southern Uplands. The
City has a vibrant history that goes back to the Roman
times in the first century. The Emperor Hadrian built
his wall through the city to keep the Scots at bay;
‘Carluel’ was the domain of King Arthur
and it was William the Conquerors son, William Rufus,
who built the Castle. Modern day Carlisle boasts a number
of other sites and attractions – a magnificent
14th Century Cathedral, a Victorian covered market and
a pedestrianised, tree lined shopping area.
Carlisle (population of around 80 000)
is a modern, exciting city and an excellent place to
live or visit. Carlisle offers everything that one would
expect from any major city in the UK.
Whether you are looking to buy for
your primary residential property, a holiday home or
as an investment income, you can be assured that you
are buying in one of the most attractive and sought-after
places in the UK.
